Technical & Methodological References

WQI publications are informed by established technical standards, network-measurement literature, metrology and conformity-assessment principles. Reference to external standards or organisations does not imply accreditation, certification, endorsement or formal compliance.

IEEE 802.11

The IEEE 802.11 family of standards provides the technical foundation for WiFi networking and informs the interpretation of wireless-system behaviour within WQI research and methodology.

IETF IP Performance Metrics

IETF IPPM publications provide established terminology and measurement approaches for network-performance characteristics including latency, packet loss and related Internet performance metrics.

ISO/IEC Conformity Assessment

Relevant ISO/IEC publications provide reference principles for conformity assessment, competence, evidence, evaluation structures and the governance of assessment activities.

Measurement & Metrology

Established metrological and measurement guidance, including relevant JCGM and NIST literature, informs the WQI treatment of measurement uncertainty, traceability, repeatability and evidential reliability.

WiFi Quality Body of Knowledge

The Institute develops a coordinated body of knowledge defining the conceptual foundations, governing principles and methodological requirements of WiFi Quality.

Published foundations

  • WQI-DOC-001 — The WiFi Quality Doctrine
  • WQI-FWK-001 — The WiFi Quality Framework
