This governance statement explains the WiFi Quality Institute's current institutional form, founding participation, foundational funding and economic intellectual-property arrangements. It distinguishes those relationships from methodological and editorial stewardship.
The Statement establishes that funding, economic rights and commercial proximity do not confer authority to determine WQI technical conclusions. It also sets out safeguards for conflicts of interest, proportionate intellectual-property review before publication and the separation of WQI methodological governance from commercial implementation and certification.
It records the current allocation of institutional functions, including the fact that the Steering Committee envisaged in the Founding Charter has not been formally constituted, and addresses governance development, confidentiality and relationships with existing WQI policies.
