Principles, Frameworks and Foundations for an Emerging Discipline. The Institute's flagship publication, establishing WiFi Quality as an independent, evidence-based discipline distinct from network engineering, internet performance measurement and equipment certification.

Wireless connectivity has evolved from a supplementary technology into critical infrastructure supporting communication, healthcare, education, hospitality, commerce and public services worldwide. Despite this transformation, the concept of WiFi Quality remains underdeveloped, with network performance still evaluated primarily through isolated technical indicators such as speed tests and signal strength.
This Doctrine argues that WiFi Quality deserves recognition as an independent field of knowledge, distinct from traditional network engineering, internet performance measurement and equipment certification. It introduces the WiFi Quality Conceptual Model and the WiFi Quality Framework, organising the technical, operational and human dimensions that together determine wireless experience within a given operational context.
The Doctrine further examines why the advancement of WiFi Quality requires a common conceptual language, evidence-based assessment methodologies, and independent institutional stewardship — establishing the foundations upon which the Institute's technical reports, position papers and future certification programme are built.
The Doctrine is organised into four parts, progressing from the problem statement to a proposed institutional response.
Why WiFi has become critical infrastructure, why the "Speed Test Era" no longer answers the questions that matter, and why higher speed does not necessarily mean higher quality.
The WiFi Quality Conceptual Model and Framework, and why a common language and an evidence-based approach are prerequisites for transforming measurement into knowledge.
Why credible assessment of WiFi Quality requires independence from commercial interests, and why the discipline requires long-term institutional stewardship.
The case for WiFi Quality as a recognised discipline, and an invitation to the wireless community to contribute to its development.
